Spies and Spying

Return to Time Crystal Wars Guide

When your opponents place your spies to guard their strong holds, you gain an advantage.  Choose the right moment to activate your spy by announcement. Once you have revealed your spy, you take your djinni card from the player, add it to your team, and decommission all your opponent’s djinn currently guarding strong holds.

Your opponent must draw from the deck the amount of djinn equal to the number of strong hold guards that were decommissioned. The game master will verify that the djinni on your opponent’s strong hold is your spy.

A spy becomes a double agent when it is chosen as a spy by two or more players. When the double agent is in play, the first of the two who activates the djinni spy, claims the double agent.

A spy is promoted when a player selects the djinni card that was designated as their spy and returned to the deck. When a player draws their spy from the deck, it is no longer a spy for that player, but may be a spy for someone else via Double Agent possibilities.

When forming a network of spies, you place multiple cards in the djinn deck. Your opponents will draw cards and play your djinni.  Activate the spy when the moment suits you.
